Since 1962,
Caffe Paradiso has been serving imported coffees and specialty
food items. Over time the menu has expanded to Soups, Salads,
Sandwiches, Panini, Pizzettes, Calzones, Torta Rustica, Quiche,
Tortes, Gelati and Importer Beverages.
All those years Caffe Paradiso, under the innovative and
successful tenure of Oscar Tommaso De Stefano, has been offering a
European-style food service to the North End (Boston) Community.

The
North
End Caffe Paradiso is frequented by a mixture of local patrons and
tourists. The main
dinning room occupies the street level floor.
The basement floor hosts a sprawling function room with an
adjoining small bar. The
white walls of the basement floor are decorated with Roman
statutes, which gives it an air of a small town museum.
Bright spotlights, hanging from a ceiling rail, illuminate
the entire room and some focal points such as the statutes.
The main sitting room contains a large display counter,
which is stocked with a myriad of specialty items; ranging from
elaborate sandwiches, succulent cakes, colorful salads, enticing
cookies to fresh dessert-fruits.
The
upper part of the counter is festooned with a wide variety of
Italian packaged coffees, cookies and other imported specialty
items. Behind the counter lays a battery of appliances that
produce the famed Caffe Paradiso espresso and other concocted warm
and cold beverages.
Behind the counter, is the alcoholic beverage area,
bottles of all color, size and shape are illuminated with spot
lights.

The North End Caffe Paradiso has a local neighborhood feel to it.
With undivided attention, local patrons watch on Italian
television sports programs such as soccer and rugby games, in a
lively and convivial atmosphere.
In contrast to this close-knit ambiance is the presence,
here and there, of tourists consulting maps and other guides to
the city while enjoying Caffe Paradiso’s fare.
At Caffe
Paradiso, to
welcome overseas tourists, flags from all nations hang on walls
and many foreign currency denominations adorn the bar display.
